Doctorate programs were introduced into the Italian University system by Law 28 of 1980. Over the years, PhD programs have been subject to various national regulations.
PhD courses are activated subject to accreditation by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), based on the positive opinion of the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (ANVUR). In application of existing laws, and in compliance with the MUR Decree n. 226/2021, the University of Naples Federico II has issued the PhD Regulation decree reported below. Art. 10 of the University PhD Regulation defines the Organs of the PhD Course (Coordinator and PhD Board). Art. 15 regulates rights and duties of PhD students.
The PhD in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) has received MIUR accreditation on the advice of ANVUR for all current cycles (up to XXXVIX).
